SPEECH COMPETITION
1. Time and Venue
Day: Monday
Date: September 4th, 2017
Time: 08.00 – end
Venue: Ruang Seminar PLA Lantai 3, Faculty of Languages and Arts, Yogyakarta State University
2. Participant’s terms
a. The participants of Speech Competition are students of senior high schools in Java. Each school is only entitled to send participants no more than 3 persons.
b. Participants will deliver their speeches based on the provided topics below :
- Democracy Education in Schools
- The Moral Crisis in Indonesian Society
- Can Education Eradicate Terrorism?
- The importance of Reading for Z-Generation
c. The participants are required to wear their own presentable school uniforms.
d. The participants are required to come 30 minutes before the competition begins to re-register.
e. The registration number will be drawn to determine the call number to perform through a lottery system during the Technical Meeting.
f. The speech duration is 5 to 7 minutes. If the participants speak more than 7 minutes it may result in the penalization of the participant’s score.
g. The participants are required to bring 3 copies of their speech script on the D-Day for the judges. Participants are only allowed to bring an outline provided by the committee during their speeches.
h. If the participants do not come after 3 times of calling, the participant will be disqualified.
i. The judge’s decision cannot be intervened.
3. Registration
- The registration fee is IDR 100,000/ persons and will be transferred to Bank Mandiri at 9000037914414 in the name of Meidy Eridhani

4. Registration Requirements
- Student card
- Recommendation letter or letter of envoy from school.
- Transfer receipt

5. Speech Competition
- The competition will be divided into 2 rounds :
a. Elimination round
• Participants will be divided into 2 chambers.
• Chamber Prophetic Generation is for the participants with the call number from 1 to 25.
• Chamber Critical Generation is for the participants with the call number from 26 to 50.
• Participants will be given 5 to 7 minutes to perform.
- Green flag means the time starts.
- Yellow flag means the speaker spent 5 minutes.
- Red flag means the time is up.
• The speech script is being prepared by the participants, and they are allowed to choose one of the topics :
- Democracy Education in Schools
- The Moral Crisis in Indonesian Society
- Can Education Eradicate Terrorism?
- The importance of Reading for Z-Generation
• There will be 10 best participants from the Elimination round. Top 5 from each chamber will go to the Final round.
b. Final round
• The 10 best participants from the Elimination round will have a new topic.
• The participants will be given 30 minutes to compose the speech script and 10 minutes to watch a video, which will be presented in front of judges and audiences.
• The participants will perform from the least call number to the most.
• The participants will be given 5 to 7 minutes to deliver their speeches.
-Green flag means the time starts.
-Yellow flag means the speaker spent 5 minutes.
-Red flag means the time is up.
• The judges will ask 2 questions related to the speeches.
• Assessment criteria
- Mastery of Topic (Penguasaan Topik)
- Grammatical Point (Tata Bahasa)
- Fluency (Kelancaran/Kefasihan)
- Pronunciation (Pengucapan)
- Performance (Penampilan)
- Talking Point (Ketepatan Jawaban), in the Final round.

1st winner: Trophy + Certificate + Cash Prize
2nd winner: Trophy + Certificate + Cash Prize
3rd winner: Trophy + Certificate + Cash Prize
